We'll use the Word Engine vocabulary learning system. You need to get 280 correct hits every week. Each week ends at midnight Sunday (but don't wait until Sunday to do this -- sometimes it gets busy and slow Sunday night. You'll learn the most if you study about 10-15 minutes every day!

You'll need the Group Name and Group Code from the Japanese instructions, above.
WordEngine - New User Sign Up Instructions
- You must join your teacher’s group or they cannot see your data. Get that code at the link above.
- WordEngine is only on the web, it is not in any App Store.
- Search “WordEngine” with Yahoo or Google. Or open this link: www.wordengine.jp using your browser (Chrome, Safari, Edge, etc.)
- If you received a Login ID and Password from your teacher, open the Login page and enter your Login ID and Password.
- If you did not get a Login ID and Password from your teacher, open the New User Sign Up page and create a new account. Be sure to enter a working email address or else we cannot help you recover a lost Login ID or Password.
- Everyone gets a 7-Day Free Trial with full access to WordEngine. After that, you must enter an access code, or purchase a service plan.
- Next, open the Menu (top left of screen) and open Manage Groups. Enter your full name and student ID number. Write your name like this: Smith Tom, or Suzuki Ken. Do it accurately so your teacher can read it easily.
- Next, open Join a Group and enter the six-digit Group Code written above. Be careful with zeros and letter o, and number 1 and letter i.
- Confirm that your teacher’s group appears on your Manage Groups page.
- Next, open My Page and click GO> next to V-Check Test.
- V-Check takes about 10 minutes to complete. After that, you can see your V-Check Scores. You can open your V-Check Scores from the Menu page, and you can also download your V-Check Scores to share with others.
- After V-Check, you can select courses from the Course Library. After that, press GO> next to any course you want to study. If your teacher assigned a special course (see above) then study that one first. If you run out of words to study in a special course, continue studying with General English.
- Before the free trial is over, open Purchase Information and enter an access code to activate your plan, or enter a Promo Code to get a discount plan. Payments can be made by credit card, bank transfer, or cash at a convenience store. If you pay at a convenience store, it takes two hours before you plan becomes active.
- Remember to save WordEngine on your home screen for easy access.
- Each time you visit WordEngine, enter your Login ID and Password and press GO> to study the course you want.
